It's time again for the Montreal Naked Bike Mechanic Calendar! Every year the calendar helps raise funds and awareness for local bike co-ops in the area. The volunteer bike mechanics who operate these co-ops help teach people the art of bicycle reparation in a fully tooled environment that's fun and makes it all seem easy. The service they provide to the community is invaluable and we really appreciate all their hard work.

Since moving to Montreal I've been frequenting Santropol Roulant as a volunteer. Not only do they have a great community bike shop, they also grow and cook food that they deliver to those with limited mobility. All the food is delivered on foot and by bike throughout Montreal. I built their new bike workshop as well as their roof top garden and a roof top greenhouse. They are but one of the many local co-op shops in Montreal that people love. Others include Biciklo, BQAM, LA Cave, Coop Becik, CRABE, Culture Velo, The Flat Bike Collective, Mile End Bike Garage and Right to Move. The photographers behind the calendar were Lauren Kolyn, Zita Avens, Jay Ploss and Kinga Michalska. As cyclists and portrait photography lovers themselves, they did an impeccable job. I was proud to be one of the cyclists featured this year (Mr. September) along side my trusty bicycle wine rack! ..... 7am in late October can be pretty chilly!
